초록/요약
Since the 2000s, several writers and works dealing with the identity confusion experienced by the contemporary Chinese have appeared. Xu Ze Chen(徐則臣) is a writer representing these writers, and his work Ah, Beijing (啊, 北京) can also be said to be a work that shows the above-described theme consciousness of Xu Zichen. Xu Zhichen compares imaginary Beijing with real Beijing, Beijing and a local village , revealing the sense of alienation and absence of people living in China today. In particular, “Ah, Beijing” effectively portrays the sense of theme that he is trying to say through the specific geographical characteristics surrounding Beijing University and its symbols. Based on the above, this paper tries to examine how the various spaces appearing in the work represent the reality of the characters in the work and what it means through Gilbert Simondon's theory of individuation and Literary Geography perspective. This can be an attempt to examine the theme consciousness of Xu Zichen and his work “Ah, Beijing”, and seek the direction in which the contemporary Chinese identity confusion be viewed.
