초록/요약
This study analyzes the impact of environmental innovation on carbon dioxide emissions in 26 Asian countries from 1990 to 2019 using a two-way error component model. Specifically, the Asian countries used in the analysis were classified into high-income and middle-income countries based on income levels, and into high-effectiveness and low-effectiveness countries based on government effectiveness. The analysis results indicate that environmental innovation affects reducing CO2 emissions. In particular, the environmental innovation of high-income countries was found to be more effective in reducing CO2 emissions compared to that of middle-income countries. Additionally, environmental innovation in countries with low government effectiveness did not have an impact on CO2 emissions reduction, while countries with high government efficiency were able to reduce CO2 emissions through environmental innovation. Therefore, environmental innovation has a positive impact on reducing carbon dioxide emissions, emphasizing that each country should strive for environmental improvement through environmental innovation.

본 연구는 1990년부터 2019년까지 아시아 26개국을 대상으로 이원오차성분모형을 이용하여 환경혁신이 이산화탄소 배출량에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. 특히, 분석에 사용된 아시아 국가들을 소득을 기준으로 고소득 국가와 중간소득 국가로, 정부 효율성을 기준으로 고효율성 국가와 저효율성 국가로 분류하여 분석하였다. 분석결과는 환경혁신이 이산화탄소 배출량 감소에 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 구체적으로는 고소득국가의 환경혁신이 중간소득 국가의 환경혁신에 비해 이산화탄소 배출 감소에 더 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 또한 정부효율성이 낮은 국가의 환경혁신은 이산화탄소 배출량감소에 영향을 미치지 못하였으며 정부효율성이 높은 국가의 환경혁신은 이산화탄소 배출량을 감소시켰다. 분석 결과 환경혁신이 이산화탄소 배출을 감소시키는데 긍정적인 영향을 미치므로 각 국가들은 환경개선을 위해 환경혁신을 위해 노력 해야함을 시사한다.
