본 연구의 목적은 주자의 견문지와 덕성지를 ‘개념 차원’과 ‘지식 차원’에서 규명하기 위한 것이다. 주자의 견문지와 덕성지를 분석해본 결과 첫째, 주자는 장횡거와 같이 ‘개념 차원’에서 학습할 때 외물을 수용해서 터득한 바와 보고 듣지 않고도 내면으로부터 저절로 덕성을 지각한 바를 각각 ‘분류’해보고 있다. 둘째, ‘지식 차원’에서 주자는 리일분수(理一分殊) 체계를 토대로 해서 외부에서 수용한 바와 내면에서 저절로 깨달은 바가 전부 ‘한 가지 이치로 꿰어 뚫어본 결과’이고, 덕성지가 신념을 지니는 층위의 수준까지 이른 앎이라고 논한다. ‘지식 차원’에서 ‘사욕’의 유무에 따라 견문지와 덕성지를 다른 층위로 ‘분류’해보면서도 모순되게 견문지가 덕성지를 얻는 데 유용하다고 말하는 장횡거를 보완하기 위해서 주자는 ‘삼가는’ 태도로 학습해서 얻는 견문지와 덕성지가 전부 ‘한 가지 이치를 지각한 결과’이나 ‘신념’의 유무에 따라 ‘다른 층위의 앎’이라고 정돈한다.

The purpose of this paper is to examine Zhu Xi's experienced knowledge and moral knowledge as 'dimensions of concept' and 'dimensions of knowledge'. First, as a result of analyzing Zhu Xi's experienced knowledge and moral knowledge at the 'dimensions of concept', the knowledge that accepted things and the knowledge that perceived inner principles are classified in different meanings. Second, in the 'dimensions of knowledge', Chu Hsi is based on the one principle and its many manifestations system, and the knowledge accepted from the outside and the knowledge naturally realized from the inside are all one principle. It is argued that knowledge that has reached the level of having a belief is moral knowledge. To complement Zhang Zai, who says experienced knowledge is useful for obtaining moral knowledge, in the 'dimensions of knowledge', while trying to classify experienced knowledge and moral knowledge according to the degree of knowledge (depending on whether there is a personal desire or not), Chu Hsi argues that both experienced knowledge and moral knowledge are 'perceived one principle' but 'knowledge on the different level' (depending on whether there is a belief or not).
