초록/요약
The purpose of the study is to provide basic data on the usefulness of teaching methods that can resolve the problem of middle school girls’ avoidance of sports activities and induce voluntary and pleasant participation in physical education(PE) classes. The sample of the study was 100 female students from 4 classes in the second grade of a girl middle school located in Seoul. The 4 classes were divided into two groups, the two classes of the experimental group applying the preferred music during PE class and the other two classes of the control group without the application of music. The experiments were conducted in three different PE classes: pre-test, mid-test, and post-test. Data processing was done using SPSS Windows ver 25.0 program to perform exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, independent t-test and two-way repeated ANOVA analysis. The results of the main analysis showed that the experimental group with preferred music showed higher enjoyment, creativity and physical activity levels than the control group. Also, the levels of enjoyment, creativity and physical activity in the post-test were higher than the pre- and mid-tests in the both experiment and control groups. In conclusion, the combination of music and physical activity improved the fun of physical activity in PE class. Applying music in PE class would be an effective teaching method for female students.
