The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of 12 weeks yoga exercise program on psychological relaxation and stress hormone(norepinephrine) in college students with internet addiction. This research was done to 60 university students (male=30, female=30) who selectde by Internet Addiction Questionnair. Of the participants, each 20 students were randomly assigned to a yog aexercise group, latin dance exercise group and a control group. All participants were required to performed Penn State Worry Questinnair (PSWQ), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) test, Short-Form 36-item Health Survey (SF-36) and measured norepinephrine levels. Both exercise program performed 2 days a week for 12 weeks for 60 min/day. The results of the study in the exercise group were as follow sB;oth exercise groups significantly reduced BDI (p<.01) and enhanced SF-36 (Yoga p<.001, Latin dance p<.05). PSWQ also showed significantly declined in yoga exercise group (p<.001). However, Stress hormone (norepinephrine) concentration nicreased significantly in only yoga exercise group (p<.05). Based on the results of this study, yoga exercise affected imporvement of psychological factors as well a s hormone alteration. This results suggest that 12 weeks yoga exercise program would be more effective to enhance psychological relaxation and sensitivity of reduced secretion of norepinephrine in college students with internet addiction.
