The Dong-A Ilbo's Report on Irish War of Independence and Its Meaning in 1920

초록/요약

The Dong-A Ilbo, which was launched in April 1, 1920, reported intensively on Irish War of Independence from the beginning. As part of Independent movement of the minor-nations in the world, the Dong-A Ilbo justified the Sinn Féin's guerrilla struggle. Furthermore, the Dong-A Ilbo positively evaluated Irish War of Independence in the same sense that it was minor-nations as Colonial Chosun. However, the Dong-A Ilbo supported Irish War of Independence at heart. and did not make a statement to the succession of Colonial Chosun. The reason for this was that the guerilla war, which was developed by Sinn Féin, was different from the cultural movement aimed at by the Dong - A Ilbo. Instead, the Dong-A Ilbo wanted to use Irish War of Independence as a justification of the self-governing Movement. In conclusion, the Dong-A Ilbo showed itself as a political negotiator through reports of Irish War of Independence.
