The Effect of School-Life Adjustment and Social Development on Motivation in Little-league Baseball Participants

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of school-life adjustment and social development on motivation in little-league Baseball participants. Study participants(N=313 little-league Baseball players) completed questionnaires to assess their participation motivation(SPMQ, Jung, 2011), school adjustment(SAQ, Jung, 2011), and sociality development(SDQ, Park, 2011). Multiple regression procedures revealed that health and self-development were important predictors of teacher’s relation and school regulations. In the friendship relations, friendship and free-time activities were important predictors, and the school class was affected by health and self-development motivation. Also, happy-family life, free-time activities, health, and friendship were important predictors of school activities adjustment. In addition, health, friendship, self-development were important predictors of the nature of action and leadership in the sociality development. The stability was affected by friendship and self-development. In the social relation of sociality development, happy-family life, free-time activities, and friendship were important predictors, and the nature of self-regulation was affected by health and self-development. In conclusion, the participation motivation of little-league Baseball club are influence of school-life adjustment and sociality development in youth.
