Dailiness can rarely be recognized to us clearly and it happens to be described or drawn only when it becomes special on account of certain motives or events. It is interesting that many books of seasonal customs were written in the way of reflecting past seasonal customs related to this matter. This suggests the fact to us that books of seasonal customs not only describe contemporary actual seasonal customs but also those of the past in a positive way. In reality, main characteristics of books of seasonal customs at the time were mostly featured in collecting reorganizing those of the past and present. It is the view to seasonal customs which was changed during the reign of King Jeongjo why they were trying to collect and reorganize those of the past and present. In comparison with King Yeongjo, King Jeongjo tried to protect seasonal customs affirmatively, which had an wide range of influence on the contemporary intelligent. Consciousness of crisis that they should protect and conserve living community lied in emergence of independent books of seasonal customs in the 19th century based upon view to seasonal customs which was changed during the reign of King Jeongjo. Consciousness of crisis became a crucial motive in rediscovering dailiness such as seasonal customs. Consciousness of crisis enabled them to experience dailiness differently from before, which also contributed to the development of books of seasonal customs.
