초록/요약
This paper aims to examine the possibilities for narrative as communication media and its potential. Designing narrative as communication means is concerned with ability to read and understand narrative and retell it as a form of story a different context as if we are talking and telling through verbal means. In this sense, narrative entails verbal and nonverbal medium and, accordingly, a narrative form has integrated and multimodal characteristics. The emphasis of transmedia narrative is placed on the communicator's participation in the course of dialogic situation by virtue of mediation of narrative across media. Communication flows from the addresser to the addressee, following the process of semiotic action. In this paper I will demonstrate how the transmedial narrative form is constructed in the framework of Peirce's sign theory. As for argumentation, I use the work of design in the three domains of product, place, and community environment, focusing on showing the mode of showing. As a consequence, I attempt to show how a communication act is possible by means of the work of design between designer and audience. In addition, I expand the notion of transmedia narrative by application of myth to narrative design. As an example, I demonstrate how a children's story can be used as a basis of narrative form for communicating across different media.
