The purpose of the paper is to study Mae Weol Dang Kim Si-seup by Lee, Mun-gu. It seems that Lee, Mun-gu wrote his work as a imaginative biography. So I found not only the space structure through Mae Weol Dang Kim Si-seup by Lee, Mun-gu but also Mae Weol Dang's critical consciousness in his work. First of all, Lee, Mun-gu showed a structure of space whose Mae Weol Dang's touring all around and his acting in his novel Mae Weol Dang Kim Si-seup. Though Lee, Mun-gu who has known more agricultural writer expressed his ideology, differently I insist on it's suitable to find that a structure of space is going along with his travel in this work. The secondly, Lee, Mun-gu represented Mae Weol Dang Kim Si-seup who were becoming outsider in Choseon dynasty. So, he showed three kinds of both space and consciousness : ① righteous consciousness with mountains, ② critical consciousness with roads, ③ resentment consciousness with the capital city. At last, Lee, Mun-gu revealed a conclusion which is a symbol of Mae Weol Dang Kim Si-seup's loyalty within mountains, roads and the capital city through conditions of twisted time. In conclusion, it seems to me that Mae Weol Dang Kim Si-seup by Lee, Mun-gu has showed Mae Weol Dang's touring and life which are kept on righteousness within his portrait of artist.
