초록/요약
By analyzing the leisure and life satisfaction of equal to or more than sixty-year-old Seoul citizens, this study purports to find out the relationship between the seniors' participation in swimming activities and their leisure and life satisfaction. To serve the purpose, I subjected 260 Seoul senior residents who were equal to or over sixty years old and selected by the cluster sampling method, and classified them into two groups; one group consisted of 130 swimmers the other 130 non-swimmers. The questionnaires used to survey two groups were "Leisure Satisfaction Scale (LSS)" by Beard and Raghed and "Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWSL)" by Dienner, Emmons, Larson, Griffin. These questionnaires were finalized to be confident and robust through a series of preliminary investigations in advance of data analysis. Followings are the outcomes of the survey after Frequency Analysis, Crosstabs Analysis, T-tests, One way ANOVA, Correlation Analysis, and Multiple Regression Analysis were performed by using SPSS 11.0.1. The senior swimmers have higher degree of leisure and life satisfaction than senior non-swimmers do. And the participation in swimming activities explains the difference. In addition, the aged swimmers demonstrate higher leisure and life satisfaction respectively not only in total level but also in subcategories. 2. There is a cause and effect relation between satisfaction in leisure and satisfaction of life among senior citizens. The contentment with leisure life indicates a significant positive correlation with satisfaction of life. The contentment in subcategories of leisure life has a positive effect on both total level of life satisfaction and subcategories of life satisfaction. The higher degree of leisure satisfaction leads to the higher degree of life fulfillment.
