초록/요약
Kim Mae Sun suggested Gyeon-sik(見識) and Heo-jeong(虛靜). Gyeonsik means the moral and spiritual capacity of creative writer, which is accumulated through mastering Confucian philosophy. Jeung-jeong(澄靜) or Heo-jeong means serene spirituality with a view to reaching the state of meditation. Kim Mae Sun seeks both the combination of Hwa(華; form) and Sil(實; contents), and the dilectic unity of the moral law of sentence. Based on this, he pursues, in writing, Gol-gyeok(骨格; frame) and Pung-un(風韻; tone) in poetry, simplicity, truth, and integrity in prose. Gol-gyeok is a sort of organic structure which develops definite direction and form of the theme. Pung-un is a gusto or an artistic effect permiated in sentence. To paraphrase this point, he emphasises refinement which is welled up from organically structured style. He maintains the sentence and tao (or morality) are inseparable. He also argues everything must be put rigt from the root so as to have trope in the sentence. In addition, oneness of sentence and tao is possible if we realise the profound truth of coherence of sentence and tao. Gan(簡; Simplicity)·Jin(眞; Truth)·Jeong(正; integrity), which Kim Mae Sun considers ideal for the core of sentense, is the aesthetic idea and a guiding principle the language of prose should pursue. We may summarise this as the aesthetics of Gan-gyul(簡潔; simplicity and concision) and A-jeong(雅正; elegance and integrity).
