초록/요약
In comparison with developing countries, people in developed countries usually enjoy a higher standard of living and economic income. However, there still exist a number of social issues of homeless people in developed countries such as the United States, France, England, Australia and other developed countries. Moreover, the issue of homelessness urgently requires serious consideration for badly impacting both the individuals and society. As compared with the broad social factors and other aspects, this paper focuses on a comprehensive test of the alternate hypothesis that variations in homelessness arise from economics conditions, and explore the specific economic factors that ultimately affect the number of homeless people. Accordingly, this paper analyzes the impact of economic factors on the homeless. Based on the data of 13 developed countries from 2015 to 2017, 39 observed values were obtained. The current paper is going to have descriptive statistics on the observed values (to understand the basics of data), correlation analysis (to understand the correlation between variables), VIF test (to detect collinearity between data), F test, and LM test, finally making use of the Hausman test in order to carry out the mixed effect model in this paper. The result indicates that urbanization has a significant impact on the number of homeless people, besides having inverse relationship. This result can provide a reference for the governments in developed world, suggesting that enacting the effective policies can improve the total number of homeless people in developed countries.
