초록/요약
This thesis aims to discuss the 20th century Modernism Architecture Movement and current urban development policies of Seoul based on socially sustainable development. Based on analysis of 20th century modernism architecture movement, represented by Le Corbusier, the radiant city and its failure, attempts to identify what socially sustainable development is and which are its important principles by Barron and Gauntlett (2002). As a result of the analysis, this study shows current Seoul urban redevelopment policy, New Town Projects is not a socially sustainable development. In this regard, this study suggests needs of qualitative development instead of only quantitative development focused on capital. It gives implication to the next Seoul urban development policy, such as 104 village urban regeneration policy, needs a socially sustainable development, and it should be implemented differentiate strategies by districts and its social and cultural heritage.
