초록/요약
The carbide-derived carbon (CDC) films were synthesized on the silicon carbide (SiC) substrates by two different halogen reactants of chlorine gas and vaporized chloroform gas. The influence of the chlorination as a reactant on the carbon structure was analyzed with Raman spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Pore morphology and specific surface area were studied using a scanning electron microscopy and porosity analyzer. Tribological properties were measured with ball-on-disk type tribometer. The purpose of the study was to examine tribological properties in both dry and lubricant conditions. In lubricant condition, the friction coefficient was lower than that in dry condition, and the wear rate was below the measurable limit. Consequently, CDC films synthesized with chloroform showed a decreased specific surface area and more graphitization, and the mechanical properties were improved.
