세계로 국제고등학교 무용동아리 활동 사례연구

This research aims for defining the educational meaning of experience in dancing club activities for Segyero students through specific examples during dancing club activities in Segyero Internation high school where creative activities for experience are active in-school, outside the school, and abroad. For this purpose, as one of the qualitative studies, we set a case study with one instructor and three students suitable for the matter of the study. Summary of the outcomes is as the following lines: First, the motive of participation in dancing club for students is various as follows: Before entering the Segyero Internation High School for new students become aware of the Korean dancing club from the internet café of the current Segyero students. And, after the admission, they are enamored of the Korean dancing’s fancy style and beauty shown in the dancing club’s promotion video, and decided to join the club. Furthermore, it’s an obligation to join at least one activity club, and steady participation in the club is related with the admission officer system, which is why students’ decision of which club to join is made carefully. Second, there is a practice for Korean dance for one hour after-class every Monday and Wednesday, starting from the base moves of Korean dance, up to the various works of Korean fan dance, Bango-dance, Jindo-drum dance, interpretative dance, etc. Dance instructor cares for providing chances of various stage experiences not only simple practice in school. By opening the regional community performance in Seoul, and during vacation, cultural exchanges and talent donations has been done. And, every Friday, the dancing club visits Duri Hana School which is the organization of residents escaping from North Korea, Segyero students as of the volunteer are giving dancing-educational service to Duri Hana School students while experience of sharing and serving mind to the others. In the common interest, dance, students meet new friends, and also suffer from conflicts coming from all different personal individualities until they gather their minds and come upon the stage. Overcoming these progresses, they start to learn to consider and understand others. Through inter relationships among club members, dancing-educational service volunteer work for North Korean children, meeting with many countries’ dancers in overseas performance, they lean communication skills through dancing, namely common concern, even if looks, languages, living backgrounds are all different. Yet they sometimes have agony between regular school classes and various activities not to be seen from common schools, nevertheless, they learn their own time managing and get aggressive in all school life. All these progresses attribute to forming independent mind about students’ future career. The third is an educational point of view of the dancing club’ s experiences. First of all, students realize it’s ‘communication’ the most important thing in community life. Ways of communication differ based on individuals, regions, countries, and students had chance of another learning opportunity outside of the school by experiencing nonverbal communicational method, dance. Next is ‘re-searching of the career’. Meet new people, getting in contact with various cultures through the dancing community, they ask themselves how to live in the future, in professional point of views. To sum up, it’s ‘change of viewpoint’. Learning Korean dance acted as a trigger altering awareness that Korean dance is boring and slow, not only students’ but also their parents’ watching over them around. A hope Segyero International High school’s dancing club’s activity, not-available in regular curriculum, to be popularized in common schools, for the variety of educational experiences.
