우리나라 생명표 예측에 관한 연구 : 사망확률 검토, 사망률 예측과 생명표 분석

Incessant development of government policies and subsequent evaluations must and shall be made to cope with current or potential economic and social problems caused by accelerated aging of South Korean society. Above all, the authority is in dire need of a quantitative research that possibly supports such procedure. As the quantitative research on demographic changes entails a long period of forecasting research, it is imperative not only to secure sufficient data regarding demographic changes, but also to apply characteristics of each nation through a series of application and evaluation of existing methods of quantitative analysis and modeling. In this respect, South Korea lacks in procurement of adequate data as well as application and evaluation of methodology. The main purpose of this study lies in understanding these issues and proposing an alternative. As the general consideration of demographic changes is far-reaching, this study mainly focused on the force of mortality, and selected life table as the subject for inquiry. It scrutinized the particulars about the preparation of life table as well as the application of relevant data and statistical model for overall forecasting procedure. Especially, it set aside much time to enhance the validity of available data, as the prediction on the life table without sufficient data is quite impractical. In this context, this study probes into the evaluation of original data, calculation and extension of death probability, forecasting of death probability, and lastly, preparation and evaluation of forecasted life table in the stage of drawing up South Korean life table, and subsequently detected and sorted out the problems to seek for a measure for improvement.
