Streptozotocin에 의한 당뇨 유발 백서에서 골막하 티타늄 임플란트와 골조직간의 조직 병리학적 변화에 관한 연구

The aim of this study was to clarify the applicabililty of subperiosteal implant to Diabetes patients. So, I observed histopathologic change in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat cranium after titanium implantation. Spague-Dawley rats were injected with a single dose of streptozotocin. At 1 week after injection, plasma glucose were determined. Titanium implants placed on subperiosteal region in diabetes-induced rats. Rats were sacrificed on days 2, 4, 8, 12 weeks after implantation. Control groups were sacrificed on same weeks like above. A block of bone surrounding the integrated implants were removed and additionally fixed for 3 days in the 10 % neutral buffered formalin solution and decalcified. Samples were embedded in paraffin and cutted by microtome. Bone ribbons were treated by hematoxilin-eosin stain and Masson-Trichrome stain technique. On weeks 2, various amount of newly generated osteoid tissues had formed underneath the implants with holes and osteoblasts and osteoclalsts were observed in normal control rats. Onweeks 8, newly generated bone tissue was grown to the holes. In diabetes induced-rats, osteoblasts and osteoclasts were observed at 4 weeks after implantation. But bony irregularity were observed at 8 weeks and I couldn’t find the new bone formation and bony thickening. The data presented suggest that osseointegration of bone to subperiosteal implant in diabetes induced rat was poorly developed than normal rat. The results imply that subperiosteal implants have no benefit for non-controlled diabetic patients.
