초록/요약
Dissipation tests performed in heavily OC silts and clays show dilatory behavior, with the pore pressure behavior increasing from the initial measured value to a maximum, and then decreasing to hydrostatic values. Available solutions are based on either cavity expansion or strain path methods, which have been developed for soft, normally consolidated soils and do not adequately model the response of pore water pressure in OC soils. The purpose of this dissertation is to propose a new interpretation method for the nonstandard dissipation curve. For this purpose, the new theoretical approach and the experimental verification method was used. The distribution of individual excess pore pressure components (??uoct & ??ushear) was predicted by a theoretical framework based on cavity expansion and modified Cam clay concepts. The pore pressure decay with time next to piezocone was modeled through development of the method proposed by Gupta (1983) for consolidation equation to evaluate the in situ value of the coefficient of consolidation of a soil deposit. These predicted values by theoretical method were compared with the piezocone penetration results in Korea University Calibration Chamber System (KUCCS). By using slurry method, high quality specimens were prepared in KUCCS. The piezocone penetration and dissipation tests were performed at various stress level and stress history. In specimens, twenty seven piezometers were installed to evaluate influence zone (the shear zone and plastic zone) and dissipation type by radial distance.
