the previews research on family business almost covers every aspects; the clarify of family definition, the discussion of family business characters;comparision of family business with non-family business;family business performance analysis, etc., but seldom touches the sustainable way for small family firms. in this thesis, i discussed three determinants of small family business growth, family capital, entrepreneurship, and professionalization, which was belived to be critical and could provide sustained competitiveness for the further growth of small family business, then i defined the 'effective' and put forward effective complexity model.
